Existing vaccines should still protect people who contract the Omicron variant from severe Covid cases based on the assessment by the World Health Organization (WHO).
WHO appears to suggest that at present was no sign Omicron would be better at evading vaccines than other variants.
Our initial report was based on the mutations seen with Omicron showing possible changes in the virus that can evade vaccine effectiveness.
